Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and driven HR Generalist to manage day-to-day human resources operations and contribute to strategic HR initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership potential and a desire to grow into an HR Manager role. In this role, you will support recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, and HR policy development while working closely with leadership to develop and refine HR strategies.
Key Responsibilities:

Recruitment and Talent Acquisition:
- Oversee HR functions related to government contracts, including compliance with the Service Contract Act (SCA) and other labor regulations.
- Partner with hiring managers to identify staffing needs, post job openings, and manage the recruitment process.
- Oversee onboarding to ensure a seamless experience for new hires.
- Maintain and manage HR records in Paylocity, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality.

Employee Relations:
- Serve as the primary contact for employee inquiries and concerns, fostering a culture of trust and collaboration.
- Guide managers and employees on workplace policies, performance issues, and conflict resolution.

HR Operations and Administration:
- Maintain accurate employee records and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollment and issue resolution.

Policy Development and Compliance:
- Assist in updating and implementing HR policies and procedures.
- Conduct training sessions on company policies, compliance, and leadership development.

Performance Management:
- Collaborate with managers on employee evaluations, goal setting, and development plans.
- Support the creation and implementation of performance improvement plans when necessary.

Strategic Initiatives:
- Participate in HR strategy discussions with leadership, contributing ideas for workforce planning and employee engagement.
- Lead or assist in special HR projects, such as succession planning, diversity and inclusion initiatives, and organizational development programs.

Leadership Development:
- Actively prepare to transition into an HR Manager role by learning advanced HR functions, mentoring team members, and gaining exposure to strategic decision-making processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience as an HR Generalist or in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Demonstrated leadership potential and a desire for career growth in HR management.
- Experience with HRIS systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Certifications such as PHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP are highly desirable.
- Familiarity with Paylocity.
