About the Opportunity:
Sterling Engineering is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineering Manager to join their organization. The company has been a leader in their market for over 50 years with a diverse book of business across various industries.
Job Duties:
- Lead and manage daily operations on the production floor, ensuring alignment with company goals.
- Analyze, control, and improve manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Organize and balance production workflows to meet production schedules and delivery targets.
- Identify and resolve production bottlenecks to streamline operations and reduce downtime.
- Minimize work-in-process inventory and optimize lead times for cost and time efficiency.
- Motivate, train, and mentor production staff, fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous development.
- Evaluate and maintain quality standards, collaborating with engineering and quality teams.
- Drive and implement continuous improvement initiatives to elevate performance across production processes.
- Prepare reports on production status, identifying issues and solutions for senior management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
- At least 10 years of experience in production management within a manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proven ability to lead a team of 60-70 employees effectively.
- Strong understanding of engineering concepts, including Bill of Materials (BOM), costing, product design, and CAD.
- Excellent problem-solving, project management, and decision-making skills.
- Able to motivate teams to achieve production goals while fostering a positive, high-performance culture.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, quality, and senior management.
