Schedule: This is a Monday through Thursday role on Swing shift. Our Swing shift runs 2:30pm to 1:00am, but please note that approximately 5 hours of overtime will be required each week (at 1.5x pay rate over 40 hrs), though more or less may be required based on business needs.

Position Summary:
The SWING SHIFT PRODUCTION LINE LEAD works with assemblers and operators to ensure the successful and accurate completion of assigned tasks, and ensures verified products meet established standards of quality including reliability, usability, and performance. Approximately 20% of duties are administrative and 80% are production-floor oriented. Approximately 5 hours per week of overtime (at 1.5x pay rate over 40 hours) is required for this role, though more or less may be expected based on business needs.
Essential Duties:
- Quality Assurance - Interpret and implement quality assurance standards and procedures. Conduct and monitor testing and inspection of materials and finished products to ensure quality. Review the implementation and efficiency of quality, inspection, and safety systems. Prepare reports to communicate outcomes of quality activities. Document internal audits and other quality assurance activities. Evaluate audit findings and implement appropriate corrective actions.
- Production Support - Support shift start-up and admin duties, to include: turn on machines, print out BOMs/daily placards and labels, audit daily production entry paperwork, and ensure all lines have correct supplies. Respond to QA questions from line personnel, change glue barrels and film rolls, troubleshoot machines, and operate forklift.
- Safety - Assure ongoing compliance with quality, safety, and industry regulatory requirements. Monitor risk management activities. Identify training and safety needs, and organize training interventions to meet quality and safety standards.
- Employee Relations - Communicate effectively with management and floor personnel. Train new employees and coach existing employees. Oversee and field concerns from Production Associates. Address minor employee policy violations (e.g., cell phone use, food/drink on production floor, etc.). Escalate major or ongoing issues to supervisor in timely manner.
Other Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for document management systems and scanning terminals. Willingness to cross train in other areas as required such as learning to use scan guns for inventory management. Abide by company policies and industry regulations, and model Sterling International’s core values. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required with 2–4 years’ production experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 1–2 years’ experience overseeing multiple employees preferred. Forklift experience preferred. Must have the ability to understand and communicate in English both verbally and in writing. Must have excellent attendance and be willing to work overtime as necessary.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Must conduct self with professionalism, demonstrate leadership abilities, and be able to build rapport with employees and other departments. Working knowledge of inventory software and order processing systems desirable. Must be proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
Requires ability to lift up to 10 lbs. regularly, up to 25 lbs. frequently, and up to 60 lbs. occasionally (using the buddy system). Production environment has a variety of noise levels, and temperature varies. Must be able to stand for long periods of time, walk continually, and occasionally bend, kneel, or reach. Must be able to physically handle controls, tools, and objects.
