Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Controller to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles. As the Controller, you will oversee all financial operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while providing accurate financial reporting to support strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger accounting.
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with IFRS standards.
- Oversee the preparation of regulatory reporting and ensure adherence to compliance requirements.
- Conduct general ledger reconciliation and maintain accurate records of debits and credits.
- Lead the annual budgeting process and provide financial forecasts to guide business planning.
- Collaborate with external auditors during audits and ensure timely completion of all audit requirements.
- Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Utilize Xero software for efficient management of financial data and reporting processes.
- Provide mentorship and training to accounting staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is preferred.
- Proven experience in public accounting or as a Controller in a similar industry.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, SOX compliance, payroll processing, and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Proficient in general ledger accounting practices and financial report writing.
- Experience with Xero or similar accounting software is highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present financial information clearly to stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing multiple priorities effectively.
