Description
The School District of Black River Falls is seeking a dynamic individual to support the academic success of students experiencing homelessness. This position involves providing direct supervision of youth participating in BLAST and communicating frequently with families. The successful candidate will be flexible, organized, creative, and an excellent communicator. Potential candidates should have a high school diploma and valid driver’s license. Experience working in community outreach is preferred. This position is grant funded and will work through May 2025 with the potential to continue into the 2025-2026 school year.
Responsibilities Include:
Supervise Program Participants: Provide oversight and support to homeless youth participating in the BLAST program and providing transportation home when necessary.
Plan and Manage Lessons: Collaborate with the BLAST Coordinator and Homeless Liaison to develop and implement program lessons that address the unique needs of homeless youth.
Build Relationships: Establish, develop, and foster ongoing cooperative working relationships with students and their families. Maintain regular communication with BLAST Coordinator and Homeless Liaison.
Conduct Assessments and Referrals: Complete Needs Assessments for program participants and follow up on any open referrals
Monitor Academic Progress: Document and track the academic progress of participating youth per grant guidelines.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 3pm-6pm
