What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Engagement Mgr position at STG?
Seattle Theatre Group Community Engagement Manager supports the Associate Director of Community Engagement on all fronts. This role will connect community programs to fit into the larger picture of STG’s vision and mission. STG’s Education Community Engagement goal is targeting 75% of our programming to include: Black, Indigenous, People of Color, LGBTQ , Disabled/and or Neurodivergent, Transient, Homeless, Low income, womxn. Salary range for this position is $54,164-$64,997/year (pay grade 25), plus medical, dental, vision, life, LTD, STD insurance, as well as paid holidays, sick leave and vacation.
- Support the management of ELEVATE and accompanying special events
- Co-Manage STG’s Young Ambassadors, providing professional development, grassroots PR opportunities & arts access to young artists involved in our programs
- Moderate and lead workshops and events as needed
- Coordinate front of house & hospitality for Community Engagement productions and special events
- Manage day-to-day operations of assigned programs
- Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration activity to leverage impact and engagement both internally and externally of assigned programs
- Ensure a series of concurrent projects with competing deadlines and pressures are delivered with high quality, on time and on budget
- Provide logistical support for on and off-site events, performances and programs as needed
- Manage the collection and reporting data related to programs under Education Partnership Manager
QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge and passion for community engagement and event planning
- Experience in administration within the performing arts fields
- 2 years of event producing and planning
- Expertise in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility frameworks and an ability to relate to diverse professional, cultural, and social perspectives.
- Proficiency in relevant Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and internet-based research.
- Adept at public speaking
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong organizational ability
- Poses a positive attitude and calm demeanor in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Ability to exercise confidentiality and discretionary judgment.
- Write and speak a second language is a plus
- Required- 2 years: Event Producing and Planning
