Are you a culinary artist with high-volume banquet/catering cooking experience, who’s motivated to producing quality “wow-factor” food experiences? Are available to lead in transpiring 5-star dining experiences on occasional weekends, (approximately one weekend day per month)? If so, we want to talk to you!
As a part-time weekend wedding/events Chef, you will play a pivotal role in executing an exceptional culinary experience for up to 350 wedding guest, working with our event coordinators, management, and kitchen staff to ensure a seamless service and unforgettable experience.
Job Duties:
- Collaborate with management and event planners to prepare and plan elegant wedding menus tailored to the couple's preferences, dietary needs, and overall theme of the wedding
- Lead the preparation and execution of all wedding meals, from hors d'oeuvres to plated courses, ensuring quality, flavor, and presentation are top-notch
- Delegate responsibilities to and oversee the Chef Assistant during preparation the day prior to the event, as well as throughout the event day
- Responsible for assuring all food items are served at the exact time requested by the wedding party
- Responsible for assuring all items served are 5-star quality in regards to presentation, taste, temperature, and overall quality
- Effectively communicate and consistently check in with event coordinators, management, and kitchen staff to ensure service timelines are met, and for smooth operations throughout the event
- Follow strict food-safety and sanitation requirements at all times
- Responsible for kitchen setup and breakdown including cleanup and proper storage of food items and kitchen equipment
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Must be available to work one weekend day per month, (Friday/Saturday), approximately 11:00am until 10:00pm
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a chef cooking for high-end and high-volume catering, fine dining, banquet, or wedding events
- Proven reputation of executing consistently applauded culinary experiences
- Exceptional knowledge of culinary techniques, proper cooking techniques and temperatures, and effective time-management skills
- Must be able and willing to display respect and professionalism in all aspects, including interactions with co-workers and guests, as well as during all other paid work time, at all times
- Leadership skills with the ability to inspire and guide kitchen staff in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment desired
- Provenly impeccable attention to detail and time-management skills is required
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively and respectfully communicate clearly with all kitchen staff, event coordinators, management, and guests as appropriate
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of 8 hours and work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Ability to repetitively bend, reach, twist at the waist, and lift up to 50 lbs
