The Learning Specialist III plays a key role in advancing development across all functions at Stop & Shop in alignment to our leadership behaviors, culture, and employee value proposition. The purpose of this role is to continually assess the development needs of associates and the business to drive, create, and routinely adapt the learning framework and program offering. This role defines, designs, develops, and delivers effective training programs for associates and management within Stop & Shop.
This position requires strong written and verbal communication skills including building and influencing cross-functional collaboration with subject matter experiences, content owners, and leaders in Stores, Distribution, and Corporate Support. By ensuring engaging and high-quality training, the Learning Specialist III helps us maintain our commitment to developing others and delivering operational excellence and customer satisfaction.

PROGRAM OVERSIGHT:
- Create a simple training framework to apply and adapt across different roles and deparments.
- Ensure framework and subsequent content reinforces and prioritizes the importance of driving sales and customer service.
- Follow consistent approach to the adminstration, delivery, communication, and evaluation of development programs.
- Partner with leaders in all functions to ensure appropriate connections in priorities, programs, and messages.
- Conduct needs assessment and analysis to create learning outcomes, objectives, and outlines to support development and enhancement of leadership development programs and workshops.
- Influence the prioritization, simplification, and organizatin of trianing content by role in varying functional areas.
- Plan, design, and develop learning approaches to meet the functional needs of associates and management.
- Incorporate various instructional methods, such as quizzes, performance assessments, discussions, self-directed learning, reflection, feedback, role-playing, lectures, on-the-job practice, demonstrations, and exercises.
- Create and produce learning assets, including self-assessments, reference materials, training guides, presentations, and e-learning.
- Asess usage and satisfaction of learning and determine effectiveness of meeting learning outcomes.
- Develop qualitative and quantitative evaluation methods.
- Prepare and distribute learning evaluation results by synthesizing information, reporting results, and providing recommendations for improvement.
- Evaluate existing programs; identify and prioritize gaps and opportunities for future development.
- 3-5 years of progressive experience in learning & development, instructional design and development, e-learning or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated success with instructional design, development, and facilitation of leadership development, with a focus on creating in-person, virtual, and e-learning experiences.
- Preferred experience in grocery retail and understanding of the industry.
- Broad scope of learning and development including in the areas of: needs assessment and analysis, organizational development, instructional design and development, and adult learning theories.
- Skilled in assessing learner needs, designing and developing engaging and effective learning experiences, producing learning content and assets, overseeing implementation, and evaluating the impact of training programs.
- Proficient in organizing and synthesizing information from diverse sources, e.g., training documents, policies/procedures, presentations, etc. to create new and simplified approaches to learning.
- Proven and consistent ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders effectively and independently, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.

- Technical proficiency in using e-learning authoring tools (Articulate Rise/Storyline or Adobe Captivate preferred).
- Technical proficiency navigating and utilizing Learning Management System (LMS) to register and track learners, upload content, generate reports, and resolve technical issues (SuccessFactors preferred).
- Technical proficiency in graphic design and audio video editing software.
- Experience creating and publishing reports and dashboards as a tool to simplify sharing of information (Excel and Power BI preferred).
