Position Details
As soon as possible
$18.25- $20.25 per hour
Part Time

The Head Lifeguard/Instructor provides supervision and support of the staff and patrons in the facility with an emphasis in maintaining and enforcing rules and regulations to provide a safe aquatic environment. Acts as facility supervisor in the absence of the Aquatic Program Director.
Reports to:
Aquatics Program Director
Essential Job Functions:
1. Follow all essential job functions for both lifeguard and instructor job descriptions
2. Serve as a mentor for lifeguards and instructors
3. Report any employee incidents to Director
4. To ensure safe and effect programs, rules and regulations will be enforced in a consistent manner
5. Ensure the facility is properly secured at closing time
6. Complete all necessary forms for documentation of shift detail
7. Participate and assist in the conduction of staff meetings and training
8. Addresses issues and concerns that occur while on duty
9. Responsible for documenting and reporting issues and concerns to the Aquatics Program Director
10. Comply with the rules and procedures as defined in the employee handbook

1. All other duties as assigned which relate to the functions of the job

Job Requirements/Qualifications:
1. Current certification in Lifeguarding from a nationally recognized association (Red Cross, YMCA, Ellis etc)
2. Current certification in First Aid and CPR from a nationally recognized association (American Heart Association, Red Cross etc.)
3. Current certification in ARC Water Safety Instructor
4. Lifeguard Training Instructor certification
5. Posses supervisory skills
6. Available to work varying hours, including evenings and weekends
7. Ability to respond to emergencies in a professional and mature manner
8. Good communications skills
Requirements of Essential Functions:
Occasional (1-33%) bending, pushing, pulling, lifting, walking, squatting reaching and stair climbing in order to perform essential job functions
Lifting: 0-10 pounds constantly (66-100%)
10-25 pounds Frequently (34-66%)
Over 50 pounds occasionally (1-33%)
