What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Project Manager position at Strictly Mechanical Inc?
The Assistant Project Manager (APM) is an integral part of our Construction Team and reports to the Operations Manager. This position will learn the skills to lead, manage and be accountable to the Construction Team as it relates to the management of assigned commercial HVAC construction project tasks. The APM supports the Construction Department and works directly with Project Managers for guidance and direction. The APM will learn to manage resources (material, labor, subcontractors, tools, equipment) in the most efficient way possible.
Primary Responsibilities
· Assist the project manager in the execution of the management plan for assigned projects
· Help coordinate and manage the project from inception to completion
· Carry out daily operational tasks in an effective and timely manner.
· Facilitate communications between office and field teams.
· Track and directly report project status updates to project manager.
· Help problem-solve issues and suggest ways to improve the project.
· Organize, file, and maintain current project documents.
· Assist in ensuring compliance with necessary specifications.
· Help create, manage, and maintain the project budget.
· Coordinate and execute daily administrative tasks.
· Schedule and confirm deliveries to field staff.
· Help create and adhere to project timeline and calendar.
· Schedule meetings, phone calls, site visits, etc.
· Consult with and gather information from technicians, engineers, contractors, etc.
· Maintain positive vendor and client relationships.
· Ensure the project adheres to a set schedule and meets the goals of the client.
Other Responsibilities
· Serve collaboratively on the Operations Team working together with Project Managers and Project Management Assistants to improve department performance.
· Supports Operations Manager on assigned projects.
· Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- On call
