Urban Activation Internship Summary

Placemaking is a multi-faceted approach to the planning, designing, and managing physical, cultural, and social identities that define a place and support its ongoing evolution. It capitalizes on a local community's assets, inspiration, and potential to create public spaces promoting health, happiness, and well-being. Placemaking is both a process and a philosophy that uses urban and user design principles.
Duties and responsibilities
The Department of Urban Activation steers placemaking via programming : celebrating, activating, and energizing downtown with courage, creativity, and empathy. We love to think big, have fun, get the right stuff done, and be good to others. Job duties for this internship would specifically support :
- The role will provide administrative and creative support to events, stakeholder engagement, communications, and overall project management related to Centro's urban activation and placemaking efforts.
- The position will report to the Director of Urban Activation & Play and is an outstanding
opportunity for an individual interested in learning more about nonprofit fundraising and event planning, offering exciting hands-on experience and the chance to gain new skills within the heart of our center city.
Working conditions
Centro operates with a hybrid work model - one day working remotely and four days in the office; however, accommodations can be made if needed. Meetings that require attendance may be scheduled on Fridays. A reliable internet connection and a personal computer are mandatory for remote work.
