Studio C, parent company of Celebration Cinema, ShowSpan, One Twenty-Three Tavern, and Midtown, is looking for an experienced, resourceful, and service-oriented Human Resources Generalist to support our HR team and provide exceptional service to both internal employees and external partners ensuring a positive and efficient HR experience. This position is Full Time, reports to the Director of Human Resources and is based at Celebration Cinema North Grand Rapids/corporate office (Knapp’s Corner).

What You’ll Do
Talent Acquisition & Retention
Talent Acquisition & Retention
- Partner with hiring managers to attract, recruit and onboard top talent.
- Manage job postings, refresh listings, and participate in interviews, hiring events, and job fairs.
- Build strong community partnerships to develop a diverse and talented pipeline.
- Provide onboarding support for new hires at the Corporate Office.
- Manage and respond to Glassdoor and other recruitment platforms.
- Celebrate employee success with meaningful recognition programs.
- Training & Development
- Assist with administration and oversight of Learning Management System in Paycor.
- Facilitate HR-related training on compliance, leadership, recruitment and engagement topics.
HR Support & Compliance
- Assist with and serve as a backup for payroll and benefits administration.
- Manage and oversee all unemployment claims, including timely responses, documentation, and coordination with state agencies.
- Maintain and update HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks.
- Track and manage workers’ compensation claims, OSHA compliance, and FMLA as needed.
- Stay up to date on employment laws and communicate relevant changes to leaders.
- Process HRIS workflows (new hires, promotions, pay changes, terminations, etc.).
- Maintain accurate employee records (electronic and paper files) and assist with HR audits.
- Lead safety initiatives and oversee incident reporting and OSHA recordkeeping.
- Regularly visit locations to foster relationships and provide HR support across the company.
- Take on special HR projects as needed.
What We’re Looking For
- 1-3 years of HR experience, with knowledge of multiple HR functions.
- Payroll experience preferred.
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification is a plus.
- Paycor experience preferred, but not required.
- Experience with Worker’s Compensation preferred.
- Experience with ATS, job boards, and social media recruiting.
- Strong understanding of recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies.
- Knowledge of state and federal employment regulations, OSHA, and compliance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
- Ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the company.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
- Comfortable with sitting/standing for long periods and lifting up to 30 lbs.
- Flexibility to work weekdays, occasional nights/weekends, and travel as needed.
