Overview: The senior writer creates and revises content for university and high school instructors and students. They think critically about the structure, clarity, and educational soundness of all products Stukent produces and provide changes and solutions when necessary. They employ a solid understanding of educational practices and marketing concepts when preparing materials for wide-scale distribution. They also mentor junior writers and manage larger projects involving multiple team members.
Requirements
- Six years or more of professional writing experience
- Portfolio of published work
- Familiarity with AP style
- Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office products
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in English, Communication, or Journalism
- Proven communication, problem-solving, teamwork, and collaboration skills
- Openness to feedback and critique
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
- Eye for organization, design, and consistency
- Ability to mentor and train junior writers
- Knowledge of educational best practices
- Teaching or journalism experience a plus
Duties and Responsibilities
- Work with authors, subject matter experts, and our internal production team to create engaging and educational simulations that meet specific learning objectives
- Create educational resources for use in classrooms, simulations, textbooks, video case studies, and as lead-generating tools
- Collaborate with graphic designers to create meaningful images that support student learning
- Mentor and train junior writers on the process of creating simulated learning experiences based on approved Stukent processes and style guides
