Responsible for maintaining core accounting functions, financial statement preparation, and providing comprehensive accounting support across Summit’s departments and business operations. This role ensures accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement of financial processes.

Description
Overall responsibility
Responsible for maintaining core accounting functions, financial statement preparation, and providing comprehensive accounting support across Summit’s departments and business operations. This role ensures accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement of financial processes.
Key Tasks:
- Manage and review monthly accounting transactions, analyzing variances against forecasts and budgets. Effectively communicate and explain variance to stakeholders at all levels. Partner with the finance team to identify and assess business risks and opportunities for process improvement.
- Lead monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies while maintaining proper documentation and audit trails. Demonstrate strong understanding of accounting principles through analysis of transaction impacts on both P&L and balance sheet, providing insights for business decisions. Direct and executes month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring adherence to deadlines and maintaining high standards of accuracy.
- Provide mentorship and oversight to team members, fostering professional development and ensuring quality of work. Drive daily accounting operations, including preparation and analysis of GAAP compliant financial statements
- Develop and present comprehensive Budget vs Actual reports, including detailed cost variance and profitability analyses.
- Coordinate internal and external audit processes, including documentation preparation, cross functional communication, and maintenance of robust audit trails.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of all journal entries, subsidiary ledgers, and bank reconciliations, to maintain financial integrity of the organization.
- Support strategic financial initiatives including budget preparation and monitoring, and special accounting projects.
- Perform detailed account analyses and create comprehensive financial summaries for management review. Develop, Implement, and monitor internal controls and accounting policies to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- Master’s degree in accounting preferred
- 5-7 Years’ Experience
- Experience with general accounting, GAAP accrual
- Excel knowledge that includes Pivot Tables, SUMIF’s and V Lookups
- Experience with NetSuite system
- This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
