Summit Hollister has a current open position for Quality Manager. The Quality Manager will oversee the department to ensure it is staffed appropriately and is capable of meeting production requirements as well as ensuring that the product meets customer requirements & specifications. This will include periodic management reviews with staff, budgetary processes, training & requisitioning additional resources when needed. The Quality Manager will also be responsible for handling customer issues (corrective actions, survey requests, auditing activities & all other requests) in a timely manner. In addition, will be the management representative regarding the implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System in accordance with AS9100 requirements. This will include involvement in auditing processes by internal and external sources to demonstrate the effectiveness of the system, and taking appropriate actions when issues are found.
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have a minimum of six (6) years in the printed circuit board industry and must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Responsibilities:
1. Manage and support Quality System Engineers in support of AS9100 activities including management reviews, audits, corrective action resolution, and training.
2. Manage a team of Quality Engineers and Inspectors to ensure the product meets customer requirements.
3. Ensure the inspection department is staffed and performing effectively and efficiently to meet production requirements.
4. Drive and support all Quality initiatives including process improvement, documentation, and internal auditing.
5. Liaises with customers and suppliers to support overall customer satisfaction and product integrity.
6. Respond to all customer requests for corrective action, surveys, and other requests for information in a timely fashion
7. Instill a culture of technical requirements compliance, including cause/correction action analysis on product and process discrepancies.
8. Draft quality policies, procedures, and work instructions as needed.
9. Ensure the creation and maintenance of a corrective action tracking system (internal and external) that records and tracks all internal and external requests for corrective actions.
10. Establish and maintain a quality assurance system in compliance with customer applicable requirements. Perform audits as necessary to ensure compliance.
11. Perform contract reviews of quality requirements to ensure that Summit can meet customer requirements.
12. Participate in design reviews to ensure Quality has the required resources to inspect the product and those customer requirements are being met.
13. Works closely with Production and Engineering to resolve quality or product issues.
14. Manages plans and directs Quality System activities to maintain compliance and certification to AS9100.
15. Performs other duties as required and assigned by management.
Education/Training:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field preferable.
2. 6-8 years of experience in Quality Assurance management/supervision in a manufacturing environment.
3. Continuous improvement or lean manufacturing experience.
4. Lead Auditor or auditor certification in AS9100.
5. Ability to read technical blueprints, technical manuals.
6. Ability to effectively work in a team environment.
7. Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
8. Advanced analysis skills and techniques.
9. Advanced organizational skills.
10. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
11. Ability to maintain the highest ethical standards when challenged.
12. Understand Summit ethics and business conduct policies.
