What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director, Texas Operations position at Summit Settlement Services, LLC?
Candidates must reside in the state of Texas.
Responsibilities:
- Manage Summit’s TX business day-to-day needs.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of TX regulatory and compliance requirements, including researching and interpreting statutes, regulations, opinions, and court rulings in conjunction with legal and compliance publications and underwriter guidelines.
- Conduct business in a professional and ethical manner to serve clients and their customers.
- Make risk adverse, common-sense decisions.
- Research file details to identify issues and apply legal, compliance, and underwriting guidelines to reach a timely resolution.
- Resolve escalated issues by personally following through on identifying a solution, communication to all parties, and/or coordination with Account Management and other Senior Leadership.
- Maintain ownership of TX specific processes and workflows from a regulatory/ compliance standpoint to provide feedback to Compliance, Managers, and Senior Leadership.
- Coordinate with the Compliance Department on TDI Compliance Audits, Annual Escrow Fund Audits, UW Audits, and Texas Data Calls.
- Prepare required documentation for audits, meet with auditors to facilitate the audit, and present the companies policies and procedures in accordance with regulations.
- Prepare reports for senior management and external regulatory bodies as appropriate.
- Support Claims Department with state law analysis and state practices.
- Respond in a timely manner to inquiries from staff.
- Prepare and deliver TX specific trainings and educational materials to operations staff.
- Monitor third party provider production/quality and provide coaching and training to maintain performance.
- Provide production support on TX transactions.
- Ability to travel for on-site office requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills and requirements:
- (Required): 2 years of experience in Texas Title Operations oversight.
- Escrow Officer License required.
- Computer proficiency required.
- High level of written and verbal communication.
- Comfortable with problem solving and identifying solutions.
- Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented work environment.
- Strong multi-tasking skills, time management, and work ethic.
