What are the responsibilities and job description for the Logistics Broker position at SUMMITT LOGISTICS?
Job Responsibilities:
· Identifying and vetting prospective carriers to build a pipeline of service providers.
· Gathering information from clients to determine their shipping needs.
· Obtaining shipping quotes from carriers and passing them on to clients
· Booking freight service through carriers for clients
· Coordinating the pickup and drop off of shipments.
· Monitoring the progress of shipments to ensure that goods arrive promptly and undamaged.
· Updating customer management software to keep client records accurate.
· Advising clients on potential supply chain issues
Required Experience & Skills:
- Sales experience required
- Associates degree or equivalent experience preferred, or experience in sales
- Proficient in Microsoft and Excel (pivot tables, reports)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced working environment and multitask
- Strong attention to detail
- Willing to be available after hours and weekends if needed
- Excellent problem-solving and time management skills
- Strong work ethic
