What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Accountant position at Sun Automation?
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Staff Accountant with 3 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have experience with ADP Workforce Now payroll, possess high personal integrity, and be capable of working effectively in a team environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works closely with management and across departments to accomplish tasks, resolve issues and generate efficiencies.
- Analyzes material, labor, or other expenses to determine production costs, cost of sales, or other cost-related performance measures.
- Captures and classifies cost data to determine the cost associated with products/product lines, projects, or departments.
- Provides management with reports that specify and compare factors that affect prices and profitability of products.
- Compares actual costs to historical or projected costs and reports on variances, monthly.
- Coordinates with Sales, Engineering, Production to create cost estimates for sales quotes.
- Participates in physical inventories and monitor the cycle count program.
- Reconciles finished goods inventories, WIP, raw materials and ledger accounts as assigned.
- Assists in Annual Financial audit and annual budgeting process.
- Assists in month-end close and prepares journal entries as assigned.
- Assists in the development of cost standards for materials and labor.
- Assists with payroll processes and completion of payroll journal entries and reconciliation.
- Will train to take ownership of the bi-weekly payroll process.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3 to 5 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with Epicor or other manufacturing ERP system.
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now payroll.
- Strong attention to detail and high personal integrity.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with a desire to learn and grow within the organization.

Salary : $64,000 - $79,000
