Strategic Sourcing Analyst

THE ROLE

Sun Country Airlines is searching for a highly motivated individual to join our growing strategic sourcing team. As a Strategic Sourcing Analyst, you will collaborate with various stakeholders across all departments within the company to coordinate sourcing projects which will include the evaluation, negotiation, and execution of goods and services contracts to meet the needs of the airline as we grow our business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

• Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers, evaluate product offerings and analyze industry trends to ensure that Sun Country Airlines is sourcing optimal solutions for materials and services
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, often organizing cross-functional teams to lead the sourcing and implementation of goods and services
• Coordinate and lead RFP projects to source high-impact goods or services; lead communications which will include soliciting and discussing proposals with vendors, negotiating contracts, monitoring performance, and working to resolve any issues that arise
• Identify cost-saving opportunities, evaluate new technologies, monitor the competitive landscape, and leverage supplier relationships to drive value for the company
• Prepare insightful presentations for stakeholders and upper management which may involve comparing multiple suppliers, evaluating ownership costs, value drivers and market insights
• Continuously innovating best practices to optimize the airline's supply chain governance and operations to ensure the needs of internal stakeholders are well satisfied
• Developing and maintaining key metrics to measure the performance of the department, calling attention to active workload and project status

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, engineering, or similar analytical field
• Strong financial acumen; experience with budget and cost reviews
• 2 years in a full-time procurement, financial, or similar analytical position
• Ability to plan, work and meet project results independently
• Excellent PC skills with MS Excel, and PowerPoint

• Roll-up-your-sleeves mindset; comfortable in hands-on analytics and work as well as in senior-management discussions
• Familiarity with the airline industry / airline economics
• Advanced degree that relates to the role
• Procurement/purchasing certifications

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job primarily operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets.
