What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Aid I or II position at Sun Street Centers?
DESCRIPTION
Provides resource support to staff and program participants to facilitate agency and program goals. The program aid plans meals, purchases food, assists program participants in preparing healthy eating choices, supervises cleanup of kitchen & dining area and provides other program activity support including driving participants to appointments Maintain good relationship with Department of Health and local food banks. Health and safety are of primary importance Program Aide acts as a peer mentor and provides social model recovery activities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A combination of experience education and / or training which would substantially demonstrate the ability to perform the duties listed above. At least six months to one year of continuous sobriety. And if recovery, an active member of a mutual self-help group such as Alcoholics Anonymous or Narcotics Anonymous. One year of related experience working with people with alcohol and/or drug addictions commercial kitchen preferred. CPR and First Aid, Health Code Training/Safe Serve (to be completed upon hiring).
NOTE: Employees will be required to be fingerprinted and will be subject to clearance by the Department of Justice. Health screening and tuberculosis testing are required.
