POSITION SUMMARY The Receptionist is responsible for greeting visitors, answering incoming calls, directing calls to appropriate staff, respond to or forward info inquiry communications, participate in online website chat, mail distribution, flow of correspondence and packages, volunteer team building, and additional clerical activities, as requested and available. In all actions they reflect the Sun Valley Community Church (SVCC) team leadership distinctives. This part-time position is 28 hours per week, Mon-Thurs. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Screen guests through security video system before admitting into building and reception area 2. Welcome guests by checking them in and assigning visitor badges; collect badges when appointments completed and before exit from the building 3. Answer incoming calls and route as appropriate. Provide callers with information such as address, directions, company phone numbers, company website, and other related information 4. Review info box messages, respond to basic inquires, and forward as necessary 5. Manage SVCC website chat function; participate in chats 6. Update phone equipment as needed, record voice mail greetings, maintain list of phone extensions and all staff directories 7. Operate office equipment, as required 8. Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail. Prepare outgoing mail for pick up 9. Coordinate pick up and delivery of express mail services (FedEx, UPS, etc.) and other packages 10. Recruit, train and schedule volunteers for back up reception coverage. Train all assigned administrative staff for reception coverage. Create coverage calendar, maintain schedule and follow-up with volunteers and staff to ensure back-up reception coverage 11. Maintain tidiness of front office, reception area, Central Services kitchen and Central Services copy room. Order office supplies from warehouse, as needed 12. Provide administrative and/or clerical support to Central Services staff, as requested and available MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or equivalent One year of administrative experience Effective communication skills, both verbal and written Professional, calm, courteous, cheerful, positive demeanor Dependable, thorough, detail oriented with strong organizational skills Teamwork orientation, customer service focused, flexible Takes initiative, assertive, requiring minimal supervision Agrees and aligns with the mission, vision, leadership distinctives, and doctrinal statement of SVCC PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Two years of related experience Posting Created: Oct-06-2022
