What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pickleball Instructor position at Sun Valley Resort?
The Sun Valley Tennis Center has summer openings for Pickleball Instructors. As a Pickleball Instructor, you will provide group and individual lessons as the Tennis Professional assigns. You will also promote and coordinate adult in-house leagues and pickleball socials. Full-time and part-time available. Compensation is dependent on experience.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide group and individual pickleball lessons
- Promote and coordinate adult in-house leagues and pickleball socials
- Communicate with the Head Tennis Professional to schedule and publicize club pickleball events
- Assists with special pickleball events and tournaments
- Supervises adult mixers and events
- Occasionally writes pickleball articles for the club newsletter and website
- Attends staff meetings
- Assists other professionals and completes other appropriate tasks assigned by the Tennis Professional
Qualifications:
- An undergraduate major in Physical Education or Sports Management is preferred, but not required
- Experience running junior development programs
- Knowledge of court maintenance
- Ability to promote and teach private and group lessons to juniors and adults
- Has represented a pickleball club in its respective Pro-Am Tournament
- Knowledge of and ability to perform the required role in emergencies
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays
- Engage in physical activities like standing for long periods, walking, and utilizing hands for tasks that involve gripping, handling, poking, and reaching
- Can safely lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
