The Process Technician is responsible for the operations of all assigned injection and blow molding machines. Typically, this will be between ten and fifteen machines. The Process Technician is responsible for meeting or exceeding productivity and quality standards within the area he or she is assigned.
This position requires a strong hands-on and technical orientation to the injection or blow molding processes. The employee must be capable of processing a variety of materials into a consistent finished product.
Responsibilities :
The following duties are considered essential to this position. Other responsibilities may be assigned.
Ensure that injection and blow molding machines, molds, fixtures, and auxiliary equipment are set-up properly to meet safety, quality, and productivity standards.
Effectively communicate with managers and coworkers on issues concerning quality, safety, and productivity.
Coordinate with the molding labor leadership to ensure full machine and labor utilization.
Recommend changes to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
Report machine and equipment malfunctions to support personnel.
Provide training and guidance of the material handler assigned to his/her presses.
Stay informed of new technology, methods, and materials for this position.
Ability to learn in house programs for BOM, shop order detail, etc.
Ability to perform minor maintenance and set up functions to assist in job set ups.
Pass a test for LOTO and follow all standard safety procedures involving LOTO.
Support and practice all Suncast safety policies, quality standards, and housekeeping methods at all times. Suncast policies have been developed to ensure compliance with employee law.
Qualifications:

Up to and including high school diploma. Specialized courses, seminars, training or background in trades such as pneumatics, hydraulics, plastic processing, etc, preferred. Three to five years of experience in this position. Knowledge of standard practices such as basic process control (start up, shutdown, etc) and mechanical principles (pressure, heat, vacuum, heat transfer, gas assist, etc.). Knowledge of various power tool equipment (grinders, conveyors, chillers, scales, dryers, etc.) and hand tool equipment (clippers, utility knives, etc.). Requires general supervision under standard practices.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to respond to questions from managers, engineers, and coworkers. Bilingual a plus.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
The employee will be required to enter data into established databases and spreadsheets. This will require the ability to learn to use Windows™ based programs or computer-controlled equipment with training.

This is a physically active position in a manufacturing facility. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. This employee should be able to communicate effectively with others and use active listening skills. Vision ability requirements for this job include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception. This is a full-time position. Due to fluctuations in production schedules, this employee may be required to work additional hours to meet additional needs.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be in a manufacturing facility. This will have seasonal variations in temperature and humidity. Noise level is typical for a manufacturing facility. Safety equipment will be worn regularly.
The Anticipated Pay Range for This Position: $20.00-$21.50 hourly
