What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plant Controller position at SunDance?
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Controller to join our team. This is an in-office position based in Orlando, Florida. The Controller will oversee the financial activities of our manufacturing facilities while also overseeing the HR manager.
Key Responsibilities
Cost Analysis and Control
- Conduct regular cost analyses to identify opportunities for cost optimization and efficiency improvements.
- Implement and monitor cost control measures to ensure financial targets are met.
- Monitor and improve production costs.
- Optimize inventory levels to minimize carrying costs while ensuring production continuity.
- Implement inventory control measures to prevent overstock or shortages, with an emphasis on managing days sales in inventory and work-in-process (WIP) reporting.
- Develop and implement controls focused on ensuring proper segregation of duties.
Financial Reporting
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including cash flow forecasts, income statements, and balance sheets.
- Provide financial insights to plant management and corporate finance teams.
Accounts Receivable Process Management
- Oversee the preparation and/or review of customer invoices and collections.
- Manage days sales outstanding (DSO) to meet targeted goals.
Compliance and Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks associated with plant operations.
HR Management
- Oversee human resources functions, including payroll, recruitment, onboarding, and employee relations.
- Provide backup for the weekly payroll process as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- Minimum 6-8 years’ experience.
- CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
- Proven experience in financial management, particularly in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of human resources practices and compliance.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills.
