What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hotel Sales Manager position at SUNdhm?
Commissions paid position.
1. Meet or exceed budgeted REVPAR (Revenue Per Available Room) goal.
2. Accurately forecast revenues for next month by the 25th of the month.
3. Analyze short-term fluctuations and direct selling activities to maximize revenues.
4. Prepare Marketing Action Plan each year in October for following year, including:
· Data on Competing Hotels
· 365 day by day occupied room forecast for following year
· Proposed rate plan for next year and projected ADR
· Marketing Action Steps by segment and month
· Budget for marketing expenses
5. Ensure that hotel front desk staff is knowledgeable about all sales programs and key accounts.
6. Produce sales department reports on a timely basis.
7. Know which market segments produce effective business for the hotel, sources of business for each and understand how to balance them to maximize revenues.
8. Know primary competitors strengths and weaknesses and market against them.
9. Identify major revenue opportunities and work to secure business from them.
10. Demonstrate commitment to superior guest service through personal response to guest needs.
11. Design and coordinate (with General Manager) advertising, public relations and promotional campaigns for hotel.
12. Manage direct sales activities of hotel.
13. Actively sell hotel through outside sales calls, telemarketing calls, site inspections, etc.
14. Actively market hotel through advertising, sales blitzes, direct mail campaigns, etc.
15. Actively sell to in house groups by welcoming tour groups, greeting arriving guests, speaking with breakfast patrons, etc.
16. Canvas all potential business sources within local area, qualifying them as to the amount of business they produce.
17. Maintain organized and accurate sales filing system on all accounts, including complete file on each active prospective or buying account, and trace file for future activities.
18. Participate in Manager on Duty (MOD) program as needed.
19. Perform any other duties needed according to business necessity.
20. Attend all Events hosted at Banquet Center and Meeting rooms.
