Job Purpose:
The Ranch Operations Coordinator holds a key organizational position, responsible for organizing and coordinating various aspects of ranch operations to ensure optimal efficiency, productivity, and sustainability. This role involves leading by example, organizing Information, and elevating the overall well-being of Sunlight Ranch.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with different units to integrate and enhance existing systems for livestock tracking, crop management, and overall Ranch operations, with a particular emphasis on inventory.
- Develop and maintain robust databases for efficient storage, retrieval, and analysis of ranch-related data, ensuring accuracy and security, as well as facilitate the sharing of data as directed.
- Evaluate and implement new technologies, with GM approval, that align with Ranch goals, such as precision agriculture tools, RFID tracking systems, and automated inventory management.
- Identify inefficiencies in existing processes and propose technological solutions to enhance productivity and resource utilization.
- Provide training, when requested, to Ranch staff on the use of new systems and technologies, offering ongoing support to address any technical issues or challenges.
- Support Sunlight Ranch, in effective range, water resource, and environmental stewardship, including:
- Water rights research and on-the-ground inspections for monthly water meetings
- Maintenance and update of mapping database including mapping new acquisitions, to include fences, stock tanks, wells, gates, roads and other pertinent information.
- Manage our Crow Lease portfolio as it relates to the success and profitability of Sunlight Ranch.
- Lead by example, working alongside the Sunlight Ranch Team, sharing knowledge and expertise, providing guidance and support to ensure tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
- Collaborate with team to develop long-term strategies for ranch development and growth. Identify opportunities for diversification and innovation in farming and livestock management practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in agriculture or related field; advanced degree is a plus.
- Proven experience in management, demonstrating leadership and strategic planning skills.
- Strong understanding of crop and livestock management practices, as well as sustainable methods.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to lead and motivate a diverse team.
- Financial acumen and experience in budgeting, cost analysis, and financial reporting.
- Strong desire for animal husbandry.
- Experience with and a passion for regenerative agriculture!
- Problem-solving skills and adaptability to changing agricultural and market conditions.
