This role is ideal for an experienced and driven Retail Sales Manager with a strong background in big-ticket retail sales and a passion for home décor and outdoor entertaining. As an active sales leader, you will engage with customers while guiding and developing the sales team.
Our ideal candidate must have a solid base of big-ticket retail sales and management experience, and will possess a high level of previously demonstrated ability in Recruiting, Sales, Training, Operations and Sales Management.
Compensation ranges from 60k-100k for this position, based on a combination of salary, personal sales commission, and team performance bonus dependent on your ability to:
consistently achieve your own “fair share” of personal retail sales goals
assist the HR team to recruit, interview, hire, and train sales staff in operations, product knowledge, sales and customer service
manage sales department operations that are executed at a high level of productivity, efficiency, and accuracy
coordinate with service, delivery, and administrative staff on those sides of the business to insure streamlined operations
manage and train sales staff to operate at a very high level of customer service AND sales/profitability
RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership / Management
Supervise and train sales staff, manage scheduling, quotas, and performance reviews.
Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding new sales team members.
Conduct one-on-ones, quarterly meetings, and provide coaching to meet sales goals.
Selling
Achieve personal sales goals and support the team in meeting targets.
Re-engage customers on discontinued items and close sales effectively.
Collaborate with marketing on promotions and events.
Knowledge
Train sales team and set individual/team goals for maximum potential.
Maintain vendor catalogs, price lists, and stay informed on competitor offerings.
Energize the team through regular meetings and continuous education.
Customer Service
Resolve customer issues and ensure team delivers excellent service.
Ensure customer concerns are addressed promptly and professionally.
Reporting
Review sales orders for accuracy and track sales performance metrics.
Monitor open sales orders and conduct weekly/monthly report reviews.
Merchandising
Oversee product displays, pricing, and stock replenishment.
Ensure timely display of new products and create/maintain price tags.
Perform daily inspections to maintain showroom presentation.
QUALIFICATIONS
College degree or 2 years of retail management experience, or a combination of both.
Previous managerial experience and strong people skills.
Must be team-oriented, well-groomed, self-motivated, and have reliable transportation.
At least 5 years of sales experience, preferably in home furnishings, interior design, luxury goods, big ticket retail, or outdoor living.
Basic computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, and tablets).
Design background is a plus.
Must be available to work until 7 PM, weekends, and summer holidays.
