Purpose:
To oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of training programs for all Sunrise employees. This role supervises Staff Development Coordinators, ensuring the successful orientation of new hires, compliance with annual recertifications, and continuous professional development. The Manager plays a key role in maintaining regulatory compliance and promoting best practices in the care of individuals with developmental disabilities
Qualifications:
• Successfully completes the required pre-employment Background and Drug Screenings
• Maintains a valid Driver's License which meets company standards for approved drivers. Minimum insurance limits of 30,000-60,000 and clean driving record.
• Bachelor’s degree in education, Social Work, Human Services, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred
• Subject matter expertise in staff training & development
• Experience in the field of developmental disabilities
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Proficiency in learning management systems (LMS) and other training technologies.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Ability to adapt training methods to diverse learning needs.
Essential Functions
Team Supervision and Leadership:
• Supervise, mentor, and provide guidance to Staff Development Coordinators.
• Oversee the delegation of tasks to Staff Development Coordinators, ensuring alignment with training objectives and reporting directly to the VP of Learning and Development on progress and outcomes.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.
Training Program Management:
• Coordinate and manage the onboarding orientation process for new staff, ensuring a seamless transition into
the organization.
• Oversee the scheduling and delivery of annual recertifications and mandatory re-training.
• Ensure training content aligns with regulatory standards, organizational policies, and best practices.
• Participate in data collection, analysis and reporting.
Compliance and Documentation:
• Maintain accurate records of all training activities, including attendance and certification data, and report directly to the Vice President of Learning and Development.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal training requirements.
• Prepare reports on training completion and effectiveness for internal audits and regulatory reviews.
Curriculum Implementation and Improvement:
• Support the implementation of training materials developed by the Learning and Development team.
• Provide documented feedback on training effectiveness, recommend improvements based on participant outcomes.
• Ensure training materials are up-to-date and accessible to all staff.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
• Work closely with other departments to align training with operational and strategic goals.
• Serve as a liaison between the training team and department managers to address training needs and outcomes.
• Partner with external training providers and industry experts to enhance program offerings.
Evaluation and Continuous Improvement:
• Develop and implement tools to evaluate the effectiveness of training sessions.
• Analyze feedback from training participants to drive continuous improvement.
• Stay informed of industry trends and incorporate new learning methods and technologies.
