What are the responsibilities and job description for the High Speed Line Filler Operator position at SUNSWEET GROWERS INC.?
Under direction of the Juice department manager, supervisor or leader, responsible for bottle filling and capping, and related equipment on high speed Juice Lines.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Operates and controls juice bottling/filling/capping equipment on juice lines.
- Adjusts system pressure(s), temperature(s), and flow(s) to maintain production quantity and quality.
- Adjusts fillers to obtain required net weight control.
- Makes sure impurities from the input water are filtered out correctly and to specification.
- Has full knowledge of diverter valves, temperatures and safety systems on bottling/filling equipment.
- Maintains production records to current standards set by Sunsweet Growers Inc. Completes all required tests within prescribed time sequence parameters and maintains documentation by separate line.
- Discerns and resolves routine maintenance problems (e.g. performs light Maintenance).
- Adjusts bottle cappers to produce required closure.
- Assists quality control personnel by obtaining production samples. Performs quality assurance checks and records results as required.
- Keeps work area clean and orderly, follows all five 5 (S) standards along with GMP’s (General Manufacturing Practices), and HACCP Plans.
- Performs changeovers and adjustments to bottling equipment.
- Performs routine minor maintenance and/or mechanical adjustments as required on fillers.
- Trains and instructs employees as necessary.
- Maintains bottle lines at infeed and discharge from cappers.
- May operate forklift on a limited basis.
- Responsible for ensuring safe working conditions and safe work practices in assigned area.
- Completes records as necessary, including daily checklist prior to operating forklift.
- Maintains fuel, oil and water in forklift.
- Must be able to work overtime if required.
- Responsible for ensuring safe working conditions and safe work practices in assigned area.
- Keeps work area, shop, equipment and tools clean and orderly using common cleaning equipment.
- Must be able to lift 70 pounds and maneuver 75 pound fuel tank.
- Performs other duties relating to the overall effort as directed.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must pass qualifying test onsite.
- Must be able to communicate and follow instructions, both verbally and in writing.
- Must be able to perform simple mathematical calculations.
- Must complete forklift certification once hired
- Must possess and demonstrate teamwork qualities.
