We are looking for a 1st Shift Quality Assurance Technician II to join our dynamic team at SunTree Snack Foods. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

· Maintain company’s Quality Management program through monitoring, verification and auditing programs as required.

· Actively participate in the implementation and maintaining of the BRC program.

· Perform operational inspections (inclusive Food safety and Quality) every 2 hours. The inspections include verification of CCPs, and preventive controls.

· Verify records (Quality system checks and inspections, production records, etc.), and investigate any gaps identified.

· Actively manage product Hold. Drive dispositioning based on a proactive approach.

· Perform task verifications and inspections according to Quality Management program.

· Perform daily chemistry and physical analysis and shelf-life testing as per schedule.

· Train employees on: Hygiene policy, GMPs, Sanitation, CCP, Allergens, Operational Inspections, etc.

· Ensure Good Manufacturing Practices are followed by all Employees and enforce GMP’s when necessary, in the plant.

· Ensure raw materials, packaging materials, WIP and finished products meet specifications.

· Operate the laboratory equipment and perform regular maintenance as required.

· Investigate any deviations and participate in implementing corrective and preventive measures.

· Participate in Internal Audits ( GMP and Procedures)

· Perform environmental monitoring testing. Create lab requisition and analyze the reports.

· Adhere to Company health and safety policies/procedures including the wearing of personal protective equipment. Keep a safe, clean, and orderly work area.

· Other duties as assigned.

Experience, Qualifications, and Educational Requirements:

· University Degree, College diploma, or Technical School Certificate in the science field (e.g. Food Science, chemistry, microbiology, etc.).

· Minimum 2-3 years of experience in the food industry.

· Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating & maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

· Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

· Intermediate skill required for Word and Excel.

· GMP & HACCP training required.

· Training in a GFSI Benchmarked food safety standard (BRC preferred) would be an asset.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.69 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
