What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lecturer for Agricultural Engineering Technology position at SUNY Cobleskill?
The Department of Applied Career and Digital Technologies at SUNY Cobleskill invites applications for a faculty member as a Lecturer for Agricultural Engineering Technology to start in June of 2025.
The successful candidate will teach a variety of courses in Agricultural Engineering Technology at the Microcredential, Certificate, Associate, and Bachelor degree levels. They should have a thorough and broad understanding of modern equipment used in the construction, agricultural and energy industries. Primary responsibilities for this position will include curriculum development and teaching related to Electric Vehicle and Hybrid Technology for heavy equipment and vehicle repair.
The successful candidate will be expected to participate in curriculum development (classroom and online), as related to Electric Vehicle and Hybrid Technologies, student advisement, internship supervision, industry collaboration, student recruitment, assessment, and the development and delivery of industry training programs. Expectations also include engagement in scholarship, grant writing, campus governance and other service. Teaching assignments may be weekday, evenings, weekend, and online.
The successful applicant must have a strong interest in higher education and be enthusiastic about creating an educational environment that is innovative and inspiring to students in the classroom and in the field.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications
- An Associate's Degree or equivalent with extensive industry specialized certifications related to Electric Vehicle or Hybrid Principles, Automotive Technologies, and/or Diesel Technologies.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching, effective communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work as part of a dynamic team in an interdisciplinary environment.
- At least three years of professional experience in a related field of Electrical, Automotive, Heavy Equipment or Truck Technologies.
Preferred Qualifications
In addition to the aforementioned minimum qualifications, it is preferred the candidate also have:
- Bachelor's degree or higher with extensive industry specialized certifications related to Automotive Technologies, Diesel Technologies, and/or Electric Vehicle or Hybrid Principles. Priority will be given to degrees in Electrical, Automotive, Diesel, or Heavy Equipment/Truck Technologies.
- Three or more years of teaching and curriculum development experience at the college level in the area of Heavy Equipment Technology.
- Five or more years of professional experience in a related field of Electrical, Automotive, Heavy Equipment/Truck Technologies.
- Demonstrated ability in developing industry partnerships in the Heavy Equipment industry and/or the ability to facilitate procurement of resources in an academic environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
