The State University of New York (SUNY) welcomes applications for a full-time 12-month Program Coordinator for both the SUNY Global Engagement Program in NYC (GEP) and the Legislative Gazette Program (LG) in Albany.
Reporting to the Faculty Director of the GEP, the Program Coordinator is responsible for the recruitment, programming, services and advising of students enrolled in the GEP. The GEP, recognized as a SUNY Signature Program, is designed to provide students who have an interest in global issues with field experience through internships along with a rigorous academic program, carried out at the SUNY Global Center in New York City.
Also reporting to the Faculty Editor at the Legislative Gazette (LG), the Program Coordinator is responsible for engaging potential student interns to the LG, as well as providing recruitment outreach for the Legislative Gazette Faculty Editor, including social media marketing, and coordinating partnerships with SUNY campuses and other New York State colleges and universities. The Legislative Gazette is a news publication that operates in Albany, NY published as an educational project where student journalists are trained to report the news that affects all new Yorkers objectively and fairly.
The Program Coordinator supports the GEP and LG with administrative functions including but not limited to recruitment, advising, admissions, enrollment, programming, monitoring and administering budgets, continued development of external relations with alumni, partner universities and internship sites, supporting SUNY New Paltz Foundation efforts in raising funds and implementation of student scholarships and program resources and active recruitment to ensure full cohorts of student participation in the programs from SUNY and beyond.

Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree with significant relevant work experience
- Experience with engaging with partner institutions, students, scholars, or faculty
- Evidence of cross-cultural sensitivity
- Excellent interpersonal and digital communication skills
- Evidence of the ability to advise and communicate with students individually or as a group
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong writing skills
- Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality
- Strong strategic thinking and analytical confidentiality
- Ability to multi-task with demanding time-frames
- Excellent computer and database skills
- Willingness to work as a part of a motivated applied learning team
- Master's degree
- Experience with event planning
- Experience in program development for university students
- Professional experience in a university setting - particularly in applied learning and global affairs
