What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Instructor FT Tenure Track - SUNY Orange position at SUNY Orange?
The SUNY Orange Business Department provides five (5) degree program opportunities for students. The candidate for this position may teach business courses in computer applications (Microsoft Suite), accounting, business, management, entrepreneurship, marketing and healthcare administration areas. The Department provides students with the opportunity to participate in the Business Club at both campuses where students are trained in civic leadership. This position involves teaching a full schedule (30 credits per year) at the freshman and sophomore levels.
This position requires a wide range of professional responsibilities and activities, including participation in curriculum and course development, departmental planning, attendance at department and college meetings, participation on department and Governance committees, student advising and other duties as assigned.
Instructors expected to participate in College and Departmental assessment initiatives.
Teaching assignments may be on the Middletown or Newburgh campus or both.
Job Requirements:
Education Required: Master's Degree in Accounting, Business, Management or related field or MBA.
Experience Required: Teaching experience and knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite. Demonstrated ability with respect to computer skills and applications in the work environment.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Worker Characteristics:
- Community college teaching experience
- Experience in online teaching in both asynchronous and synchronous formats with demonstrated evidence of student engagement
- Experience with D2L Brightspace or other comparable learning platform
- Experience with inclusive and/or culturally responsive pedagogy
- A diverse knowledge in several of the following areas: accounting, business, management, entrepreneurship, marketing, and administration
- Bilingual skills

Salary: $57,431 per the faculty contract. This is a 10 month Faculty position.
