Job Summary:
Super Steel seeks a detail-oriented and skilled Quality Technician to join our team. This role is crucial in maintaining our high standards by ensuring all products meet stringent quality requirements before reaching our customers. The Quality Technician will perform inspections, audits, and accurate documentation while utilizing various quality inspection tools and techniques.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Conduct First Article Inspections to verify product quality and compliance with specifications.
- Interpret blueprints, plans, and technical specifications to assess product dimensions, functionality, and quality against defined standards.
- Perform measurements using a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM).
- Use quality inspection tools, such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, thread gauges, and height gages, to ensure precision.
- Create and work with balloon drawings to support documentation and inspection processes.
- Conduct process audits to identify and correct potential issues in production.
- Investigate customer complaints, document findings, and provide written resolution reports.
- Maintain accurate documentation of quality processes and inspection results to support continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous experience in quality control, particularly in manufacturing or welding environments (preferred).
- Proficiency in quality inspection tools and software, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Certification as an ASQ Quality Technician (preferred but not required).
- Solid understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) (required).
- Familiarity with welding symbols (preferred).
- Basic understanding of ISO 9001:2015 standards (preferred).
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in inspections and documentation.
- Good organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.
- Basic math skills (including shop math and fractions).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel for documentation and reporting.
- Physical stamina to perform inspections that may involve standing or lifting.
- Willingness to pursue additional training, including portable CMM training opportunities
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
