About the Job
The Agricultural Development Specialist will play a key role in the administration of crop management programs, developing customer relationships, and contributing to day-to-day operations at Superior Ag Resources Cooperative Inc.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist crop consultants, salespersons, and location managers in implementing crop management programs.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers to understand their needs and provide effective solutions.
- Conduct daily monitoring of assigned customer crops for condition and pest identification.
- Interact directly with customers to explain crop diagnosis and recommendations in a clear and accurate manner.
- Perform pre-application inspections of customer fields and crops to recommend pesticide and fungicide applications.
- Utilize GPS tracking systems and computer software to identify and record field pest locations and crop management information.
- Support seed sales and marketing programs, including development of demonstration plots and customer informational meetings.
- Respond to customer complaints on behalf of the agronomy management team.
- Collaborate with the crops and integrated pest management teams to develop and maintain agronomy programs.
- Assist with record keeping and office support tasks.
- Attend recommended crops diagnostic workshops.
- Complete a project established between the intern and their supervisor, presenting the completed project to the management team at the end of the internship period.
Requirements
To be successful as an Agricultural Development Specialist, you must meet the following requirements:
- Be a full-time registered student majoring in an agricultural discipline.
- Meet the minimum age requirement of 18 years.
- Meet work eligibility requirements of the Immigration and Naturalization Service and hold a valid driver's license.
- Pass favorable background checks and be capable of performing the essential functions and duties outlined in the job description.
