APPLICATIONS DEVELOPER I/II (ORACLE/.NET) - PRIMARILY REMOTE OPPORTUNITY
  
 (Depending on qualifications, the position may be filled as an Applications Developer I or Applications Developer II.)
  

ANNUAL SALARY:

Applications Developer I: $85,924.80 - $106,808.00

Applications Developer II: $95,908.80 - $119,163.20

This recruitment is open to external candidates, internal OCSC employees, and internal OCSC promotions. The eligible list established from this recruitment will be used to fill current and future positions.

TELEWORK/ON-SITE OPPORTUNITY
 
This position is eligible for a combination of telework and on-site work assignments.  Telework must be completed from a pre-designated home-based location within the State of California and employees may be required to report on-site to address business needs.  
  
 
 
Telework is at the sole discretion of the Court and may be rescinded with 48 hours' notice, based on needs of the Orange County Superior Court. 
 

ABOUT THE POSITION

The current opportunity is located with the Court’s Vision team. The Vision team works in a fast-paced environment and is responsible for enhancing and supporting the criminal and traffic case management system. The technologies used include PowerBuilder, Oracle, Java, and .NET.
 
 Applications Developer I 
is the entry-level classification in the Applications Developer series. Incumbents perform routine to moderately difficult applications development, maintenance and support duties and may have full life cycle responsibilities for small-scale systems. 

 

Applications Developer II is the journey level classification in the Applications Developer series.  Incumbents perform full life cycle responsibilities for assigned applications and perform design, development, maintenance, and support duties for moderately complex systems or modules of larger scale, more complex systems.

APPLICATIONS DEVELOPER I

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

OPTION I:

High school diploma or GED equivalent -AND- two (2) years full-time (or equivalent) of progressively responsible experience performing coding, testing, debugging, basic design, and documentation of computer applications. 

 

-OR-

OPTION II:  One (1) year of full-time (or equivalent) experience with the Court as a Technology Trainee performing duties related to applications development. 

APPLICATIONS DEVELOPER II

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED equivalent -AND- three (3) years full-time (or equivalent) of progressively responsible experience in applications design and development. 

 

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in Oracle databases and PL/SQL programming.
  • Experience in Oracle 12c or higher.
  • Experience with object-oriented design and developing Web solutions (Java/.Net).
  • Experience with data modeling.

Selection Process
Step 1:
Applications will be reviewed to identify candidates who meet the minimum qualifications and/or desirables; those candidates will be referred to step 2 in the selection process.
 
Step 2: Candidates' supplemental question responses may be evaluated and ranked. Depending on the number of applications, assessments and/or screening interviews may be conducted.  If any part of the assessment process consists of proctored, in-person tests, candidates will be required to appear in person regardless of where they reside. Note: Though candidates may live outside of the State of California while participating in a recruitment process, individuals must reside within the State to be eligible for Court employment.
 
 Step 3: Those candidates who are successful in the review/assessment may be placed on the eligible list. Placement on the eligible list is not a guarantee of interview or employment.
 
All candidates will be notified via email of their status at each step of the process. Additional steps for the selection process will include a local background and reference check.
