Technology Trainee: $75,212.80 - $93,163.20
Applications Developer I: $85,924.80 - $106,808.00

TELEWORK/ON-SITE OPPORTUNITY
This position is eligible for a combination of telework and on-site work assignments. Telework must be completed from a pre-designated home-based location within the State of California and employees may be required to report on-site to address business needs. Telework is at the sole discretion of the Court and may be rescinded with 48 hours' notice, based on needs of the Orange County Superior Court.

ABOUT THE POSITION
Under immediate supervision, the Technology Trainee performs a range of basic to entry-level duties in various professional disciplines while learning the Court's IT environment and the application of professional theories and principles. The Technology Trainee is an entry-level classification into the professional information technology job family. The classification reports to the Court Technology Manager and departmental staff. The Technology Trainee are expected to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to advance into a first-level professional classification and must promote within 12 months of appointment. There is no permanent status in the Technology Trainee classification.
Under Immediate supervision, the Applications Developer I is the entry-level classification in the Applications Developer series. The classification performs routine to moderately difficult applications development, maintenance and support duties and may have full life cycle responsibilities for small-scale systems. The Applications Developer I participates in analyzing and documenting user business and operational requirements, creating and/or modifying routine to moderately difficult programs and databases, assist in implementing systems and user test plans, performing user training, and providing on-going applications maintenance and support. The Applications Developer I is expected to demonstrate a strong customer service orientation and skills, and work with client managers and staff to ensure effective, high-priority technology solutions to their needs and requirements.

APPLICATIONS DEVELOPER I
TECHNOLOGY TRAINEE
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE (one of the following two (2) options must be met):
OPTION I:
Bachelor's degree in management information systems, information technology, computer science, or a closely related technical field. *Note: A copy of your college diploma or official transcripts must be included with your application.
-OR-
OPTION II:
High school diploma or GED equivalent – AND – two (2) years of full-time (or equivalent) experience using or supporting various computer systems.
APPLICATIONS DEVELOPER I
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE (one of the following two (2) options must be met):
OPTION I:
High school diploma or GED equivalent – AND – two (2) years of full-time (or equivalent) progressively responsible experience performing coding, testing, debugging, basic design, and documentation of computer applications.
-OR-
OPTION II:
One (1) year of full-time (or equivalent) experience with the Court as a Technology Trainee performing duties related to applications development.
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE
Experience with the following technologies:
- Full stack developer using Microsoft technologies such as: .NET Core 6.0, C#, TypeScript, SQL Server.
- Angular (version 6 or higher).
- Design and development of Mobile applications for iOS and Android
- Application development in cloud environment.
KNOWLEDGE OF
- Principles and practices of systems analysis and design.
- Applications development methodologies, tools, and utilities.
- Programming theory and current programming languages used in Court applications.
- Database management systems and software as they affect applications design.
- Web-based technologies and design, and development methods and languages.
- Systems integration design concepts as they relate to applications design and development.
- Principles and practices of sound business communication.
ABILITY TO
- Perform business rule and process analyses and apply critical thinking skills to reach sound, logical conclusions regarding user needs and business requirements.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose applications problems and install fixes or make repairs in areas of responsibility.
- Set priorities and organize work to complete project responsibilities efficiently and effectively.
- Prepare clear, concise, and accurate reports and other written materials.
- Communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Understand and follow written and oral instructions.
- Exercise sound judgment within established procedures.
- Keep technical skills current to meet continuing applications development assignments.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure project accountability.
- Use tact and diplomacy when dealing with sensitive and/or confidential issues and situations.
- Establish and maintain highly effective, customer-focused working relationships with court managers and end users, other CTS staff, representatives of other agencies and others encountered in the course of work.
