Position Overview
The Accounting Coordinator assists with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll. This position maintains accurate financial records and assists with financial reporting while collaborating with other departments to ensure smooth financial operations.
Primary Responsibilities
Processes and maintains Accounts Payable information
Process weekly hourly Payroll and addresses any employee questions
Maintains daily accounting for all scrap shipments and freight invoices
Provides accurate and complete information to meet reporting deadlines
Assists in month-end inventory processes
Prepares closing entries and month-end reports
Coordinates all records and retention activities
Education Requirements
Associates degree or Certification in a related field
Minimum Experience Required
Two (2) years of related experience in Accounts Payable and/or Payroll
License(s) and/or Certification(s) Required

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Required
Requires knowledge of basic accounting principles, data processing, and payroll concepts
Strong mathematical and organizational skills with ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities
Self-starter with the ability to work independently with little supervision
Ingenuity and judgment to recognize discrepancies and/or misstatements within financial data
Ability to recognize if accounting data is reasonable and correct and recommend improvements in accounting systems and procedures
Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality of financial data, budgets, statistics, hourly payroll, and other sensitive data
Regular contact with other departments to obtain and furnish accounting data
Strong interpersonal and communications skills
Computer Equipment and Software Requirements
Must be computer literate with the ability of utilize multiple types of software, including spreadsheets and database applications via Microsoft Office, Word and Excel
Strong 10-key data entry skills.
