As a Machinist You Will Have The Following Responsibilities
As a Machinist You Will Have The Following Responsibilities
- Set-up and Operate Machinery: Execute set-up and safe operations of various machines including Brake, Shear, Ironworker, Band Saw, Drill Presses, Turning Lathes, and Horizontal Mill.
- Machine Capacities and Maintenance: Understand machine capacities, make proper adjustments, and perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal operation.
- Material Layout and Efficiency: Lay out raw materials efficiently to minimize waste and ensure leftover materials are properly picked up and stored.
- Safety Procedures: Adhere to and follow all safe operating procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall machining and production process.
- 6:00am - 4:30pm Monday through Friday

- Measurement and Conversion Skills: Proficient in reading 1/8”, 1/16”, and 1/32” gradations, converting feet/inches, and converting inches to decimals using a conversion chart.
- Blueprint and Tool Proficiency: Capable of reading blueprints and using measurement tools such as dial calipers and vernier calipers.
- Steel Knowledge: Understand dimensioning and sizing of common structural steel sizes, and know the differences between various grades and types of steel.
- Safety and Maintenance Awareness: Follow safe operating and lifting procedures, be aware of load limits, and ensure proper machine maintenance.
