Directional Drill Operator

Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain directional drilling equipment to install underground utilities.
• Perform utility locates and read prints/maps to ensure safe drilling operations.
• Monitor bore paths and adjust as needed to avoid underground obstacles.
• Load, unload, and organize tools, materials, and equipment.
• Ensure all work meets industry safety standards and company guidelines.
• Work closely with the crew leader and laborers to complete tasks efficiently.
• Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on drilling equipment.

Requirements:

• Previous experience operating a directional drill and/or working as a locator.
• Familiarity with Ditch Witch drilling equipment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret utility maps and locate prints.
• Strong knowledge of underground utility construction and safety procedures.
• Physically capable of performing labor-intensive tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Reliable and punctual with strong teamwork skills.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from work yard
• Willingness to travel out of town

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• Overtime
• Weekends as needed
• Year round work
