At Supreme Machined Products Co., Inc., we are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to evaluate new customer products, estimate production times, and develop detailed process plans for precision machined components and assemblies. The ideal candidate will support the launch of new equipment and processes, create and maintain essential documentation, and provide engineering support to implement new products into production efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Process Evaluation and Development: Evaluate customer products based on specifications and quality standards. Develop and implement detailed process plans for precision machined components.
- Cost and Time Estimation: Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to aid management decisions.
- Documentation and Programming: Create and maintain process routings, CNC programs, tooling lists, and process instructions.
- Equipment and Fixture Design: Specify, select, design, install, and modify equipment and fixtures for new product launches and existing products.
- Safety and Quality Compliance: Develop plant layouts and work instructions adhering to safety, quality, and productivity procedures. Support compliance with quality policies (IATF16949 & ISO 14001).
- Continuous Improvement: Lead production launch and improvement activities, research areas for continuous improvement, and develop standard procedures to enhance manufacturing processes and reduce costs.
- Training and Support: Train operational personnel on manufacturing methods and processes. Provide ongoing support to Operations and Quality Departments to resolve manufacturing issues
EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
BS in mechanical/manufacturing engineering
Minimum of 5 years relevant experience with emphasis in precision machining environment.
5-10 years’ experience process design and development including materials, drawings, industry specifications, equipment, tooling, gaging and testing
5 years’ experience with APQP, SPC, FMEA, & 8D Problem Solving
Knowledge of quality systems, including PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, GR&R, Process Capabilities Studies
Intimate knowledge of common machine tools including lathes, mills, mill/turn, and grinders
Experience working in a mass production environment with tight tolerances.
Experience and understanding of precision inspection methods and equipment
Critical problem-solving skills: ability to ask the right people, the right questions at the right time in the right w
Detail-oriented: ability to be a subject matter expert to make informed decisions for a variety of cross-functional teams
Strong CAD software capabilities
Proficient in MS Office
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Salary : $70,000 - $95,000
