Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Secretary/Bookkeeper to join our team. This dual-role position combines administrative support with bookkeeping responsibilities, ensuring the smooth operation of our office while maintaining accurate financial records. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and experience with financial software, particularly QuickBooks.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day administrative tasks, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, and maintaining office supplies.
- Perform bookkeeping duties such as recording transactions, managing accounts payable and receivable, and reconciling bank statements.
- Prepare financial reports in accordance with GAAP standards and assist in the preparation of tax documents.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure accuracy in double-entry bookkeeping practices.
- Utilize accounting software to manage financial data and generate reports as needed.
- Assist with governmental accounting requirements and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Collaborate with other team members to streamline processes and improve efficiency within the office.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Secretary or Bookkeeper, with a solid understanding of accounting principles.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and other accounting software is essential.
- Familiarity with GAAP standards and governmental accounting practices is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing financial records.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with clients and colleagues.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
