The Desktop Support Specialist provides technical assistance to internal associates regarding various hardware and software applications. In this role, your main duties will include remote troubleshooting of endpoints and diagnosing different technical issues, assessing and understanding user needs, imaging and shipping laptops for new hires, and recommending technical fixes to customers.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct remote support to internal company associates.
- Receive and act on support tickets submitted to the internal help desk.
- Create, configure, and maintain user accounts for new hires and existing users in Active Directory/Azure.
- Image laptops for new hires and ship them; receive and refurbish laptops from separated employees.
- Provide Microsoft Office and other software support and troubleshooting.
- Manage file transfers through SFTP, Citrix ShareFile, and other transfer methods from our clients to SurePoint.
- Utilize the LAPS tool to elevate access for users as needed.
- Associate’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- End-user desktop support, mobile device support, and email support experience.
- Experience troubleshooting remote conferencing tools like Zoom or Teams.
- Proficiency with current endpoint operating systems (Windows 10/11).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Outlook and Teams.
- Experience with Active Directory user management.
- Experience with Azure/O365 administration and troubleshooting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable doing remote management, utilizing remote control tools.
- Experience with Microsoft Exchange or Exchange Online.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A , Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, or similar.
- Knowledge of network protocols and basic network troubleshooting.
