Facilities Maintenance Tech

Position: Maintenance Worker – College Facilities
Hours: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
Hourly Rate: $16 per hour

Job Responsibilities:

• Use small hand and power tools, precision measuring devices, mechanical equipment, and materials common to the maintenance trade to maintain and repair college facilities.
• Interpret blueprints, color schemes, sketches, or schematics related to the college's buildings and infrastructure.
• Manage inventory and maintain a clean, organized shop environment for efficient operations.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, repairs, and upkeep of facilities, ensuring a safe and functional campus environment.

Qualifications:

• HVAC/plumbing/electrical experience
• Computer literacy is required for tracking work orders, inventory, and scheduling tasks.
• Proficient in managing inventory and ensuring that the workspace and equipment are neat and well-organized.
• Detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of effectively documenting maintenance work.
• Ability to work independently, multi-task, and remain self-motivated in a high-energy environment typical of a busy college campus.
• Able to exercise good judgment in prioritizing tasks and solving problems quickly to minimize disruption to campus activities.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of people, including staff, students, and faculty.
• Demonstrates respect for and engagement with individuals from various cultural and social backgrounds.
• Flexible, friendly, and able to maintain a positive attitude when interacting with the campus community.
