Sustainable Cleaning Systems is a division of TVW Inc., a nonprofit focused on supporting the employment choices of people of all abilities. Our SCS program provides Jobs for individuals with and without disabilities in the Portland Metro and Salem areas. To achieve this goal, we operate a full-service commercial cleaning division with over 30 years of experience cleaning buildings, big and small. We seek a forward-thinking and experienced leader to help shape the future.
WORK SCHEDULE- Hours will vary, depending on mission and customer needs. Typically reporting to work from 10:00 to 6:30
POSITION SUMMARY
Independently and with minimal supervision, the SCS Division Manager provides leadership and management for all facets of TVW's social enterprise/janitorial division to achieve mission and financial stability goals. The manager ensures quality customer service, develops procedures that provide a safe and productive work environment, and ensures that the division's overall functions are as efficient and cost-effective as possible.
This position requires complete budgetary preparation and compliance accountability for the division's annual operating budget. Responsible for the management and upkeep of capital assets of the janitorial division. Responsible for providing input on long-range operational planning and may be asked to give feedback on long-range strategic planning for the organization.

REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to pass criminal background checks for all buildings serviced by the division.
- Valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and proof of current vehicle insurance.
- Excellent leadership and management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, decision-making, judgment, communication (verbal and written), problem-solving, organizational, and customer service skills
- Working knowledge of accounting procedures and ability to read financial statement
- Ability to plan, organize, direct, coordinate, and control resources.
- Ability to organize projects, balance multiple priorities, and focus on tasks through completion.
- Ability to actively participate in team development and team-oriented processes and motivate others to do the same.
- Experience in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Google Calendar, cell phone, and laptop/computer use.
- Must have the skill/desire to learn new things and engage staff in new skills and training regularly.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
REQUIREMENTS
- A minimum of four years of experience in janitorial operations. (Bidding experience preferred) Or similar experience running an equivalent business or nonprofit.
- Minimum of 6 months budgeting/accounting experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Marketing, or a related field. (4 years of additional experience managing a similar customer service business or employment-based nonprofit may be substituted for a bachelor's degree).
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Develops, coordinates, and oversees the work processes of the Janitorial Services Division.
2. Obtain and maintain all needed local business licenses and BOLI contractor licenses. Keeping them active at all times.
3. Ensures work processes and workflows provide employment opportunities for people of all abilities, emphasizing integration and advancement for all employees.
4. Ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
5. Ensures compliance with established safety protocols. Strongly focuses on day-to-day safety and response. Review the Safety Committee's reports, act on all safety needs, and report issues to TVW leadership directly and through regular Board reports.
6. Ensures compliance with all TVW policies and procedures. Leads by example, is proactive in approach and responds to policy and practice issues quickly and fairly.
7. Researches and develops improved systems and procedures. Coordinate and ensure the rollout of new concepts occurs on time and is managed to completion.
8. Ensures successful renewals of contacts and yearly updates occur ahead of due dates.
9. Maintains professional relationships with all TVW/SCS employees, contacts, leadership, and board members. Setting an example for healthy boundaries and professional ethics.
10. Maintains positive and professional relationships with SCS/TVW customers.
11. Oversees management and supervision of all janitorial staff.
12. Oversees/manages contracts - develops and maintains proactive and positive relationships with all contract administrators, facilities managers, and site contacts according to the contract.
13. Maintains all relevant records for division.
14. Purchases all janitorial supplies and equipment within capital budget allowances and tracks inventory. Basing purchases on need and inventory level.
15. Ensures budgetary compliance within the division.
16. Develops bids for new/renewal contracts as appropriate; secures and maintains contracts. Renews contract rates yearly at minimum or when a change to contract expectations or law dictates.
17. Optimizes resources and organization to promote improved efficiency within departments and teams.
18. Ensures adequate supervision coverage when supervisors are unavailable.
19. Performs scheduled and unscheduled site inspections.
20. Ensures division representation on the Safety Committee.
21. Attend meetings and participate in committees/teams as required and as the mission requires.
22. Performs other related duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct supervisory responsibility for SCS leadership and administrative team members. This responsibility includes employee evaluation, development, counseling and/or discipline, approving absences or overtime, and making hiring, terminations, pay changes, position changes, and training changes and recommendations.
Has indirect supervisory responsibilities for all Janitorial Services employees. This includes complete supervisory duties in the absence of the regular coordinators/supervisors and dispute resolution responsibilities for all employees in the Division.
