Sutter County Health & Human Services is currently recruiting for a Limited-Term Staff Analyst. The current vacancy is shared with Child Welfare Services and Adult Protective Services.
Department Overview: Child Welfare Services (CWS) is a government agency dedicated to protecting children from abuse, neglect, and exploitation. Its goal is to ensure children's safety and well-being through intervention when safety concerns arise and by supporting families in creating a safe and nurturing environment. CWS Social Workers face the challenging task of balancing child protection with the preservation of family unity when possible. These decisions are complex, requiring a in depth understanding of each family dynamics and individual circumstances. Additionally, CWS Social Workers collaborate closely with schools, healthcare providers, law enforcement, and community organizations to coordinate efforts to deliver a comprehensive support to the families and children.
Position Overview: The Staff Analyst position within Child Welfare Services involves analyzing data and providing recommendations for policy and procedural changes. Duties include: Reviewing and analyzing All County Letters, All County Information Notices, and All County Welfare Directors Letters to assess their impact on staff and county procedures; Developing and updating procedures, system documentation, and other materials for staff use; Assessing the impact of changes on current county computer systems, such as CWS/CMS, and recommending implementation strategies; and Coordinating with federal, state, and local agencies; participating in meetings and workgroups; and representing the division in discussions related to information sharing, requirement planning, system improvements, and change implementation. This is a Limited Term position with benefits.
Department Overview: Adult Protective Services (APS) agency is an county program that helps elder adults (60 years and older) and dependent adults (18-59 who are disabled), when these adults are unable to meet their own needs, or are victims of abuse, neglect or exploitation. County APS agencies investigate reports of abuse of elders and dependent adults who live in private homes, apartments, hotels or hospitals, or who are, or soon will be, experiencing homelessness. Our goal is to create a stable environment where the individual can safely function without requiring on-going intervention from the APS program. Services provided by APS include responding to reports of known or suspected abuse or neglect, conducting an investigation, and arranging for the delivery of services from available community agencies.

Education and Experience:
Pattern 1: One (1) year of full-time experience as a Staff Analyst Associate classification in Sutter County, or an equivalent classification within another agency;
OR
Pattern 2: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a Bachelor's degree;
AND
Depending upon the option recruited for, two (2) years of full-time professional experience performing analytical work in the following areas: general administrative, personnel, fiscal, program, or staff development;
Or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge skills and abilities.
License or Certificate: Possession and maintenance of a valid California Driver’s License. Eligibility for employment for those who do not meet this requirement due to disability will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis by the appointing authority.
Requires the ability to exert a small amount of physical effort in sedentary to light work involving moving from one area of the office to another; ability to see; ability to hear and communicate orally; requires sufficient hand/eye coordination to perform semi-skilled repetitive movements, such as typing, data entry or use of other office equipment or supplies; ability to operate a motor vehicle.

Salary : $66,435 - $90,979
