Position Overview:
Sutton High School is seeking a highly motivated and passionate individual
to join our track and field program as a Varsity Assistant Coach. The successful candidate will
assist the Head Coach in the day-to-day operations of the team, including coaching, training,
and supporting student-athletes in all aspects of their development.
Key Responsibilities:
● Assist the Head Coach in planning and executing training sessions for all track and field
events.
● Provide individual and group coaching for athletes, helping them to improve skills and
performance.
● Foster a positive and supportive team environment focused on sportsmanship,
teamwork, and personal growth.
● Assist with organizing and managing track and field meets.
● Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and staff regarding expectations,
progress, and any important team updates.
Qualifications:
● Previous experience in track and field coaching or competing is preferred.
● Strong knowledge of track and field techniques and strategies for various events
(sprints, distance, field events, etc.).
● Ability to motivate and engage student-athletes of varying skill levels.
● Excellent communication and organizational skills.
● Ability to work collaboratively with other coaching staff.
● Must be available for practices, meets, and other team events.
● Valid CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Compensation:
Per S.T.A. contracted stipend amount
