Job Overview:

As a Front Desk Specialist, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, embodying the warmth and hospitality that Swan Bay Resort & Marina is renowned for. Your role is pivotal in ensuring guests have a seamless and memorable experience from arrival to departure.

This position requires flexibility, including working holidays and weekends. Shifts are scheduled between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM, with both day and afternoon shifts available.

Key Responsibilities:

Guest Reception & Services:

  • Greet and welcome guests upon arrival with a friendly and professional demeanor, exemplifying our commitment to Excellence Wins.
  • Assist guests with check-in and check-out procedures, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Provide detailed information about resort amenities, events, and local attractions.
  • Address and resolve guest inquiries, concerns, or complaints promptly, reflecting our dedication to exceptional service.

Reservation Management:

  • Handle phone calls and emails related to reservations, cancellations, and modifications.
  • Utilize reservation software to manage bookings and maintain accurate records.

Boutique Oversight:

  • Assist in the daily operations of our on-site boutique, including inventory management and sales transactions.
  • Ensure merchandise displays are appealing and stocked appropriately.

Administrative Duties:

  • Maintain a tidy and organized front desk and lobby area.
  • Perform clerical tasks such as filing, photocopying, and data entry.
  • Coordinate mail distribution and manage incoming deliveries.

Schedule:

  • Up to 8-hour shifts, available 7 days a week between 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM
  • Day & Afternoon Shifts
  • Weekend & Holiday availability required

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee:

  • Must be able to lift at least 25 lbs.
  • Must be able to sit or stand for an extended period.
  • Must be able to work outside during the summer months, where shade is often provided.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with all guests and employees.
  • Is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and use their senses of taste or smell.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior experience in customer service, hospitality, or front desk roles is advantageous but not mandatory.

Skills & Attributes:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with reservation systems.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities with attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic environment.
  • Professional appearance and adherence to dress code standards.
  • Resourceful and proactive problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to commute to Alexandria Bay, NY 13607.
