Service Writer/Manager

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Service Writer/Shop Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will serve as a vital link between our customers and the service department, ensuring that all service needs are accurately communicated and met. This role requires excellent customer service skills, a strong understanding of heavy duty trucks, and the ability to manage multiple employees to ensure work is getting done in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with customers promptly and professionally, addressing their service needs and inquiries.
• Accurately document customer concerns and vehicle issues for the service technicians.
• Provide detailed estimates for repairs and services based on customer requests and technician assessments.
• Schedule projects/service appointments and follow up with customers regarding their vehicle status.
• Maintain clear communication with customers throughout the repair process, providing updates as necessary.
• Purchase parts, supplies, and materials needed for jobs.
• Conduct safety and business meetings with mechanics and service technicians to ensure safety in the work place and discuss projects.
• Collaborate with mechanics and service technicians to ensure timely completion of repairs.
• Uphold company standards for customer satisfaction and quality of service.

Skills

• Strong background in heavy duty truck service.
• Experience working in a dealership or as a service technician is highly desirable.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with clients.
• Experience in welding and fabricating for ordering purposes.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly to customers who may not have automotive knowledge.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving with a focus on customer satisfaction.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
