Rate: Roughly $27/hour W2 Benefits (Swoon covers 50% of benefits) or $31/hour C2C
Job Description
Summary:
The Buyer is responsible for purchasing machinery, equipment, tools, parts, supplies, or services essential for the company’s operations. This includes evaluating suppliers, approving purchase orders, and ensuring high-quality goods and services are obtained at the best possible price.
Responsibilities:
• Evaluate and optimize suppliers based on cost, quality, service, and availability.
• Approve purchases of high-quality merchandise at competitive prices in correct quantities.
• Review requisitions, solicit bids, and approve purchase orders.
• Provide guidance to resolve issues related to undelivered goods.
• Lead negotiation, renegotiation, and contract administration with suppliers.
• Address defective or unacceptable goods and recommend corrective actions.
• Monitor and evaluate contract performance to ensure compliance.
• Manage just-in-time inventory processes.
Candidate Requirements
Education & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, supply chain management, business, or economics (preferred).
• 5-7 years of relevant experience in purchasing or finance (internship experience not accepted).
Technical Skills:
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint proficiency.
• Experience using Power BI and Tableau for dashboards.
• Data mining, cleansing, and enhancement expertise.
• Ability to create reports, charts, and graphs.
Soft Skills:
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Presentation skills.
• Self-motivated, organized, and able to prioritize workload with minimal supervision.
• Collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
Preferred Certifications (if applicable):
• CPM, APICS, CPIM, CIPS, ISM, CPA, CMA.
Additional Role Details
• Retrieve and analyze data from IMMS data warehouse, PO databases, and other sources.
• Conduct market research to align specifications and supplier requirements.
• Support strategic sourcing initiatives with data collection, quantification, and reporting.
• Track, audit, and report savings metrics for strategic initiatives.
